Chateau Gruaud Larose 'Sarget De Gruaud Larose', Saint Julien 2012
Gruaud Larose, a Saint Julien appellation wine, has a rich history dating back to its first ownership by Joseph Stanislas Gruaud and two other members of the Gruaud family. The wine is not suitable for young consumption due to its tannic and closed nature. Young vintages can be decanted for 2-4 hours to soften and open its perfume. Chateau Gruaud Larose is best with at least 12 years of bottle age, reaching peak maturity between 15 and 35 years. It pairs well with red meats like beef, lamb, wild game, and poultry.
