Tasting Notes:
Its intense deep garnet red. The nose is expressive and delicate, offering a wonderfully aromatic range of summer berries, black cherries and blueberries, very lightly underpinned by a toasted spiciness. The attack is mellow and the palate, like the nose, is precise and refined. Well-integrated woodiness and delicate, velvety tannins carried by ripe and generous fruit. The finish is juicy and precise. There is overall opulence and denseness from start to finish.
Food Pairing: This wine pairs well with beef, lamb, venison and poultry.
Wine at a glance
Discover the classic elegance of Bordeaux with Château Pichon Longueville Baron 2ème Cru Classé 2014, available at LamboCellar Malaysia.
From the prestigious Pauillac appellation, Château Pichon Baron is one of Bordeaux’s most iconic Second Growth estates (1855 Classification), known for producing structured and age-worthy wines.
The 2014 vintage is celebrated for its balance, freshness, and finesse, offering a more classic Left Bank profile. Crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, this wine opens with refined aromas of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco, and subtle spice.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, elegant finish. Compared to richer vintages like 2016, the 2014 shows a more approachable and refined character, making it ideal for earlier drinking while still capable of ageing.
