Château Cos d’Estournel, the creation of an idiosyncratic individual nicknamed the "Maharajah of Saint-Estèphe" for his taste for wines which had done the return-trip to India, is one of the very finest Bordeaux wines. The rigor of the selection combined with the large proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon has revealed a wine with unique balance, very precise, very pure with a wide-ranging of aromatic complexity, both fruity and spicy. On the taste, the tannins are silky and intense, with a particularly long and brilliant finish.
