The 1988 Château Mouton Rothschild is a structured and classic Pauillac with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite, and tobacco. With age, it develops layers of leather, earthy spice, cigar box, and subtle truffle notes. On the palate, it is firm yet elegant, with refined but still present tannins, bright acidity, and concentrated flavours of cassis, dark plum, and savoury oak. The finish is long, powerful, and slightly mineral, showing both depth and refinement in a more traditional, reserved style compared to more opulent vintages.

Grilled red meat, roast lamb, game birds, aged cheeses, mushroom risotto, dark chocolate desserts, veal or pork tenderloin, and truffle dishes.

The finish is long, smooth, and graceful, with a classic floral and mineral touch that reflects the finesse of Margaux.
